Why Real Estate Websites Don't Convert (And How to Fix It)
Most real estate websites don't convert because they answer the wrong question. A buyer arrives asking "what's available for me right now." The site answers "who are we." NAR's 2025 data found 46% of buyers began their search online, and 52% found the home they purchased online. The search is digital. The transaction is human. The website sits at the join. Then the second failure lands. In a 2024 secret-shopper study, 47% of enquiries sent through US brokerage websites got no reply at all. The ones that did answer averaged 8 hours 17 minutes. Set that against Zillow's finding that 47% of buyers hire the first agent who gets back to them, and the cost is obvious. There's rarely a second chance, because there's rarely a second call. The Buyer-vs-Browser Site Test is five checks that tell you which kind of site you own. Twelve minutes, phone in hand.
